Why Choose the UC TESOL Program?

By making the important decision to obtain a master’s degree focused in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), you will gain the confidence to build and foster an environment of trust with your students. Because ESL students are often unfamiliar with common concepts such as grammar rules, expressions and synonyms, you will need to learn instructional strategies to adapt to their ever-changing needs. As they grow more comfortable with their surroundings and the learning methods you expertly weave into their daily routine, you can help them reach their potential inside and outside the classroom.

Is it possible to get a HARD COPY information packet showing a list of courses for your TESOL master’s degree, the education/experience requirements for program applicants, and an explanation of the philosophical approach to teaching that the program promotes?

I am an adult with a master’s degree in English literature. I work in municipal government and volunteer teaching English as a Second Language. Teaching ESL has been so amazing to me that I would like to change my career, but in order to do so, I need to get as much specific, detailed information as possible about what’s involved in getting a master’s degree in TESOL.

A detailed hard copy information packet that I can review at my leisure would be most helpful.

    Thank you.
