Lisa Holstrom, EdD, Assistant Dean, Enrollment Management and Support

After graduating from The University of Cincinnati in 1998, Lisa Holstrom was the Director of the Early Childhood Learning Community (ECLC) in the College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services at the University of Cincinnati. Under her leadership the program grew from eight online students in 2000 to over 700 online students residing around the world. Designed for childcare providers who need to further their education, ECLC has become nationally recognized for its innovative and supportive approach to distance education. In 2005, the US Dept of Health and Human Services awarded Dr. Holstrom and ECLC $868,000 to translate the online associate’s degree into Spanish for Hispanic preschool teachers. In 2007, they were awarded a Hispanic-serving Higher Education Partnership grant to support Head Start teachers in Ohio who were serving Latino children and families. In 2008, ECLC received a third grant to develop an online associate’s degree for teachers of infant and toddlers.

Dr. Holstrom is currently Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management and Support for the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services. Working closely with faculty and programs, marketing strategies are being implemented to recruit additional students. She serves on the College’s Recruitment and Retention Advisory Board and is Chair of the Communications Board.

Her service includes the Ohio TEACH Advisory Board, the Language Policy Subcommittee for the Hamilton County Community Action Agency, and the United Way Impact Council for Children Prepared for Kindergarten.
