The program focuses on the issues of teaching and learning from the perspective of the practicing classroom teacher who is interested in teaching and/or designing programs for gifted and talented students. The program addresses research, theory, and best practices related to removing barriers to student achievement, learning environment, school culture, and educational reform.
The STEM program is aligned with 21st Century Learning goals and focuses on integrating mathematics, science, technology, and engineering concepts across the curriculum. It prepares educators to design integrated and project based learning experiences and develops a framework for thinking about the role of STEM subjects in a democratic society.
