The online University of Cincinnati Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction Teacher Leader program fuels your ambition to lead on your terms. As a Teacher Leader, you will be prepared to serve as a leader, work with adult learners, facilitate and lead change, as well as coach other teachers at all stages in their career.

New educators need experienced Teacher Leaders to provide the coaching, mentoring and guidance necessary for long and successful careers as educators. Teacher Leaders will serve to support new teachers and facilitate professional learning in their school community. Gain the insight and confidence to become a leader in your classroom, school, and community. Upon completing the Teacher Leader program, you can graduate with the knowledge to implement professional learning communities, coach and mentor peers, as well as improve student outcomes through improved classroom practice.

Graduates of the Teacher Leader program are eligible to apply for the Teacher Leader certificate/endorsement from the state of Ohio. Out-of-state graduates will need to check with their state’s Department of Education to see if this program will meet the needs to fulfill the requirements for similar certificates/endorsements.

    If I already hold a M.Ed, can I complete the endorsement for Teacher Leader through this online program? I am an Ohio teacher. If so, what courses would I need? In addition, are there any scholarships for classes? I teach at a Title I, low income rural school. Thanks!

    • CI 7060: Developing and Sustaining Professional Learning Communities for Teacher Leaders (3 credits)
    • CI 7061: Coaching and Mentoring for Improved Results for Teacher Leaders (3 credits)
    • CI 7062: Practicum Seminar for Teacher Leaders (3 credits)
    • CI 7063: Recognizing, Assessing and Supporting Quality Instructional Practicum (3 credits)

    Electives (3 total hours)
