Educational Leadership Cohorts and Facilitators
A TRUE COMMUNITY OF LEARNING
It’s the best of both worlds. Enjoy the flexibility of pursuing your Master of Education online, plus the support of an engaging and comfortable learning environment. From your first online discussion, you will be introduced to your cohort. Comprised of no more than 20 students, your cohort will provide a network of peer support rarely seen in other programs. And because you can count on the support of the same cohort throughout the entire two years of the program, you will feel confident in sharing thoughts and ideas as you get to know each other. Many students build lasting relationships and continue to communicate about career opportunities, successes, and learning experiences in and outside the classroom long after graduation. Imagine coming from a small private school and getting the opportunity to gain insight from a teacher in a large public school. Or vice-versa. You will be exposed to new backgrounds, new socio-economic issues, and new social demographics. The knowledge disseminated within the cohort is invaluable, and will help to shape your leadership skills throughout your education.
“The cohort was great. It had a good mix of people from around the country with different cultures, interests, backgrounds, and the types of schools in which they work. It was neat that people with different experiences could come together online like that and get different experiences communicated through discussion boards. It was awesome to be able to come together like that and it was great to learn how they handle their schools.”
- Joe Rodgers, Master of Education Educational Leadership Graduate
Led by the expertise and insight of an experienced facilitator, your cohort moves as a unit towards its ultimate goal of graduation. All facilitators are graduates of the University of Cincinnati Master of Education in Educational Leadership program and understand the minute details of the program as well as the vision and philosophy of the faculty. In addition to their cohort responsibilities, facilitators are able to provide you with one-on-one personal attention from day one. They are able to take this knowledge and communicate it to you with a student perspective in mind, because they have been in your shoes. What a benefit to have personal guidance from someone who has asked many of the same questions you will ask, who knows the faculty, and who has excelled in the work you will be asked to complete!
“The cohort offered a plethora of knowledge. It changed my thinking due to the different perspectives it offered. It was so important to look at other people’s opinions and seek other opinions to be successful in leadership.”
