Janet Decker, J.D., Ph.D., Assistant Professor

Janet DeckerJanet Decker, J.D., Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in both the Educational Leadership and Urban Educational Leadership programs where she teaches education law courses. She has offered professional development for educators across the nation pertaining to cyberbullying and the legal issues surrounding other off-campus student and teacher speech. Her research and publications focus on legal and policy issues related to special education, charter schools, and technology. Dr. Decker received both her J.D. and her Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from Indiana University. She also worked at the Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law and the Center for Evaluation and Education Policy. Dr. Decker was also a special education teacher at the Princeton Child Development Institute which provides Applied Behavior Analysis intervention to children and adults diagnosed with autism.
