Dr. Carla C. Johnson, Program Coordinator, Curriculum and Instruction Programs
Dr. Carla C. Johnson graduated with an Ed.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Cincinnati and held faculty positions at Northern Kentucky University, Utah State University, and the University of Toledo prior to joining UC in Fall, 2008. Dr. Johnson’s research and practice overlap in the arena of effective science instruction and student learning.
Her work in the areas of STEM education reform, policy and professional development provides a lens to guide her undergraduate and graduate level courses for pre-service and in-service teachers, as well as building administrators.
Dr. Johnson currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Science Teacher Education and is the Editor of the School Science and Mathematics Journal (2011-16). Dr. Johnson has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Research in Science Teaching and as President of the National Middle Level Science Teachers Association.
