University of Cincinnati’s Graduate Certificates are designed to enhance a teacher’s knowledge and skills in a targeted subject area. The certificates consist of a specific sequence of courses offered as either a post-bachelor’s or advanced post-master’s option, and most can be completed in as little as one year of part-time study completely online.
Some certificate options are also available as an Endorsement. Endorsements meet specific State of Ohio teaching licensing requirements. Out-of-state graduates will need to check with their state’s Department of Education to see if this program will meet the needs to fulfill the requirements for similar certificates/endorsements.
It is not necessary to be admitted to a master’s degree program to work toward and earn a Graduate Certificate, however, students enrolled in a certificate or program may transfer up to 12 semester credits from their program into a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction program (depending on the graduate certificate chosen).
